An average-sized pumpkin contains about a cupful pumpkin seeds. These are an excellent source of fibre, zinc, magnesium, potassium and iron, and have traditionally been used as an intestinal antiparasitic. Pumpkin seed oil may be helpful in the management of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) or “enlarged prostate”.
